Code of Ethics

I. RESPECT THE VALUES, RIGHTS AND DIGNITY OF EVERY STUDENT AS A HUMAN BEING. Treat everyone equally, regardless of sex, disability, source ethnicity or religion. Respect the talent, the level of development and goals of each member of ITF Taekwon-Do to help them reach their full potential. Be sensitive to other cultures and respect their differences

II. MAINTAIN HIGH LEVELS OF INTEGRITY. Fully comply with the Oath and the principles of Taekwon-Do; follow the rules of the Organization. Operate under the Constitution and obey Discipline and standards. Promote a martial art/sport free of illegal drugs and other substances that improve performance, guided by the Drug Agency Sport and the World Code Anti-Doping. Do not disclose confidential information to any member outside of the organization without a written confidentiality agreement.

III. BE A POSITIVE MODEL; ACT SO AS TO PROJECT A POSITIVE IMAGE. All members of Taekwon-Do are deserving of the same opportunities and equal attention. Be fair, considerate and honest with your peers, instructors, and students. Encourage and promote a healthy life - control yourself and be careful if you smoke or drink alcohol, do so in moderation - or ot at all - around children.

IV. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES. All members of ITF Taekwon-Do must use appropriate language and manners, be punctual, be always ready and presentable. Demonstrate control, courtesy, respect, honesty, dignity and professionalism in all matters and persons involved in â€‹â€‹Taekwon-Do, including competitors, officials, administrative personnel, media, parents and spectators. Encourage students to demonstrate these qualities. Be a professional and accept responsibility for your actions. Keep away from criticism of other instructors and/or students.

V. COMMIT TO PROVIDE QUALITY EDUCATION OF STUDENTS. Seek to continuously improve through training as an instructor, taking opportunities for professional and personal development when possible. Provide students with planned and structured training to meet their needs and goals. When you need additional experience, seek the assistance of council members or other older instructors and professionals. Be fair and honest inyour words and attitudes.

VI. PROVIDE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR TRAINING AND COMPETING. Adopt appropriate strategies to control hazards and ensure that the training or competition environment is safe. Ensure that equipment and facilities are safe, and that these together with the rules and training are appropriate to the age, physical andemotional maturity, experience and ability of students. Show concern and care for sick students and injured. Allow participation in training and competition when appropriate. Encourage students to seek medical advice when required. Tailot training programs to suit the needs of the practitioners if necessary. Maintain the same interest and support to all students.

VII. PROTECT YOUR STUDENTS FROM ANY FORM OF PERSONAL ABUSE. Refrain from any form of verbal, physical or emotional abuse of your students. Refrain from any form of sexual or racial harassment, either verbal or physical. Do not harass, abuse or discriminate against students based on their sex, national origin, sexual orientation, religion or ethical beliefs, race, color, ethnicity, job title, disability or any other characteristics. Any physical contact with students shall be limited to that required for developing their skills. Be alert to any form of abuse directed at students when in your care.
